Subversive Polish auteur and Pornfilmfestival Berlin regular Malga Kubiak (“Andy Warhol to se vrati: boyz” PFFB 2016 and “Federico García Lorca Noir Despair” PFFB 2019) turns her camera lens on the artist she knows best: herself. In no way your typical bio pic, Kubiak dives into what her filmmaking and films have meant to her and others in her wild no-budget fashion. And her filmmaking is no small feat in conservative modern-day Poland. Add to that the astounding coterie of non-professional cast and crew – who make up their own version of Warhol’s Factory crowd – and “Xreens“ is a radical portrait of radical filmmaking.
