Adam’s (late 30s), Odile (28) and Fatim (18) work in the “Black”, a pleasure district of Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. The women share a flat and as single mothers and sex workers all three suffer from prejudices. Every night Odile and Fatim bring their children to Ms. Coda, an old woman who runs a night nursery for children of sex workers.
Moumouni Sanou, a young director from Burkina Faso, meets the women at eye-level and he is interested in their stories and their lives. A quiet, unspectacular documentary, that had its premiere at Berlinale Forum in 2021.
