Greta

The 70-year-old gay nurse Pedro takes care of his girlfriend Daniela. To get the seriously ill transgender woman a hospital bed, he decides to help an arrested and wounded criminal to escape. While he hides Jean from the police, they start a power struggle that gradually turns into mutual affection. Their relationship not only helps Pedro to overcome his loneliness, but also leads him to a kind of late coming out, in which the actress Greta Garbo plays a role. While under the regime of Jair Bolsonaro it is becoming increasingly life-threatening to live as a queer person in Brazil, “Greta” appeals to a fundamental humanism with a deeply human story as well as with its unadorned sexual images.
