The films by Italian filmmaking duo Morgana Mayer (director) and Lucio Massa (producer) are nightmarish fetish phantasmagorias, staggering between BDSM scenario and waking dream. In their third joint work, the docufiction “Conscious Dream”, Massa and Mayer for the first time explore new cinematic terrain. In homage to the porn director Hans Rolly, Morgana Mayer stages, meets and interviews people who talk about their sexuality and act out their fantasies. This juxtaposition of documentary and pornographic passages creates a universe as delicate as it is radically lustful and queer.
