Alfredo não gosta de despedidas
(Alfredo Doesn’t Like Goodbyes)

The work of the Brazilian artist André Medeiros Martins can be understood as an overflowing autofiction that continually expands itself – an interplay of photography, film, text, and performance art that transcends all boundaries. For his first feature-length film, Martins draws on stories from his own family history to contrast his mother‘s biographical experiences with his own artistic and sexual obsessions. “Alfredo não gosta de despedidas” is a transgressive, highly personal and sexually explicit essay that lingers on for a long time.
