Marcelo’s memory is very good. He remembers family stories and has visions of his past lives. In one of them he was Novalis – the famous German romantic poet who spent his life searching for a blue flower. But what is Marcelo looking for in this life? “A Rosa Azul de Novalis” is a peculiar, intimate portrait film like no other – a staged documentary that seeks the political in the private, the universal in the individualistic and the social in the biographical.
