Los Angeles party SHAKEDOWN, organized by and for lesbian and queer Black women, was striptease, lap dance and go go dancing for queers of colour – and one of the few spaces for an openly sexual lesbian subculture. Leilah Weinraub’s documentary presents original footage and intimate interviews with the protagonists. A hedonistic celebration of lesbian sexuality, accompanied by hip hop beats.
