Thanks to curator Clara López Menendez from the American festival Dirty Looks we are able to show one of our most important rediscoveries this year: MALDITO SEA TU NOMBRE, LIBERTAD (“Cursed be thy name, freedom”). Director Vladimir Ceballos shot this film in Cuba, spontaneously and not exactly legally. Watch the portrait of a group of outcasts, who are so desperate because of the repressive system that they rather infect themselves with HIV deliberately than to have no self-determination at all.
